In order to stop climate change, it is essential to obtain as much of the energy we consume from renewable sources as possible - but production and demand often do not match.
To solve this problem, storage with a capacity 100 times larger than currently available on the market is required - and at a fraction of the cost per kilowatt hour of storage capacity. EEG Elements Energy GmbH has set itself the goal of building exactly this storage system: JOHANN .
The next-incubator is currently running two pilot projects with the JOHANN energy cell: A project with the distribution of Energie Steiermark as a PV seasonal storage for energy autonomy including heat use. The second project with Energie Netze to test JOHANN as a long-term storage facility for decentralized system services.
