Stochastic cooperative agent systems for mobile and stationary (swarm) storage concepts in energy communities.

Energy communities (EGs) have great potential to make a significant contribution to the energy transition. In order to fully exploit this potential, however, they must develop from “purely balancing concepts” to grid-friendly, integrated and cooperatively acting subsystems of the energy system.

Project goals

  • Safe and flexible operation of EGs through innovative memory usage and stochastic optimization concepts

  • Cooperative approaches for the operation of EGs as a basis for the transformation of individualistic objectives to cooperative, grid-serving concepts with the aim of a societal optimum in the energy system

  • Development of AI systems for the energy transition for probabilistic forecasting of producers, consumers and storage systems using weather- and habit-dependent production and consumption data

  • Creating economic incentives through new business models and tariff structures to increase the stability, attractiveness and network friendliness of EGs
