Clean air is essential for a high quality of life. But especially in cities, the air we breathe is often so polluted that it is harmful to our health. With the vision to change that, greencity solutions developed the CityTree. The CityTree cleans and cools the surrounding air through an automated irrigation and ventilation system. Ambient air is drawn in by the fans and flows through the vertical moss mats, cooling and cleaning the air. The filtered air is then released back into the environment through the CityTree. The integrated sensors control the moss supply and measure the performance and environmental data in real time.

The CityTree can be used multifunctionally as a combination of biofilter and street furniture: There are seating options around the CityTree so that you can optimally enjoy the fresh air. With built-in LCD screens or information boards, the CityTree can also serve as an information touchpoint. Further usage options can be offered by installing smart city technologies (e.g. charging stations for e-bikes).
